Cannon Michael
President/CEO
Cannon is the President/CEO of Bowles Farming Company, the 6th generation in his family’s farming business. Cannon is a UC Berkeley graduate, and became the President and CEO in 2014, advocating for California agriculture and intelligent water policy. Environmental stewardship, ethical treatment of workers, and sustainable production are all extremely important to Cannon and the Bowles Farming Company team.
Derek Azevedo
Executive Vice President
Derek serves as the Executive Vice President of Bowles Farming Company, bringing 12 years of experience working as a business development representative for the world’s largest tomato processor. He joined in early 2017 after graduating from Kansas State University.
Brian James
CPA, Chief Financial Officer
Brian is the Chief Financial Officer for Bowles Farming Company, with experience in public accounting, commercial banking and as VP of Finance for a large winery in the Central Valley. Brian holds a degree in Accounting from California State University, Fresno and earned his CPA license in 2003.
Wes Carter
Ranch Manager
Wes, the Ranch Manager at Bowles Farming, previously spent 15 years on his grandfather’s ranch, 4 years as a custom spraying operator, and 2 years managing a ranch in the Firebaugh area. He joined Bowles in 2022
Wayne Pricolo
Agronomist/Pest Management Advisor
Wayne is the company’s in-house Agronomist and Licensed Agricultural Pest Control Advisor. He oversees pest management and fertility decisions on the ranch, and he’s been with the company since 2016. Prior to joining the Bowles team, Wayne was an Independent Pest Management Specialist for 20 years.
Helen Bohr
Office Manager
Helen Bohr is the Office Manager for Bowles Farming Company. Helen began working for Bowles Farming Company in 1978 part-time. In 1979 Helen started working full-time for BF Chemical as a chemical purchasing agent. In 1980 Helen went back to work for the farm and has held several different positions.
Ingrid Soriano
Clerk
Ingrid Soriano, a Los Banos native with a background in dairy farming, joined Bowles Farming in 1979. Starting part-time, she eventually transitioned to a full-time role in August 1982, where she’s been involved in various aspects of the company’s operations, including payroll, accounts, and scale management.
Rachel Mendoza
Agriculture Accounting Technician
Rachel Mendoza is the Agriculture accounting technician and organic program manager of Bowles Farming Company. Prior to joining Bowles in 2005, she served in the US Navy and afterward worked in Los Angeles at a property management company in accounts payable and as a Notary Public.
Lizette Esquivel
Receptionist/Clerk
Lizette is the Receptionist/Clerk/Notary Public of Bowles Farming Company. She joined Bowles in 2017 after working as a Lab Technician at Liberty Packing Company and afterward worked at McSwain School District in Merced California.
Lucy Ibanez
Human Resources and Compliance Manager
Lucy is the HR and Compliance Manager at Bowles Farming Company. She brings over 9 years of food manufacturing experience from neighboring companies, like OFI in Firebaugh, CA. Lucy graduated from Fresno State University with a Business Management Degree.
Antonio Hipolito Martinez
Finance Manager
Antonio is the Finance Manager for Bowles Farming Company, bringing experience in various industries, primarily in accounting and finance roles. He joined the company after working at Oracle Corporation and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Eduardo Garcia (Lalo)
Technology Manager
Lalo holds the position of Technology Manager at Bowles Farming Company, having transitioned from working as an irrigator and tractor driver. He graduated from Merced Community College in 2017, having earned his associate’s degree in Computer Networking.
Fernando Banda
Facilities Manager
Fernando is the Facilities Manager for Bowles Farming Company. He joined the company in 2017 as the watermelon packing supervisor, after attending Merced Community College and being an agricultural field tech for 10 years. He was given the opportunity to become the facilities manager and oversee the shop and all maintenance activities for the farm.
Alfredo Lopez
Equipment Operation Supervisor
Alfredo is currently the Equipment Operation Supervisor at Bowles Farming Company. He joined the company in 2001 as a tractor driver and also assisted as an irrigator. Later, he became a welder for the shop, eventually working with tractors, helping to fix and connect implements.
David Calderon Villa
Furrow Irrigation Supervisor
David is the Supervisor for Furrow Irrigation, with a history at the company since 1990. He first joined as an irrigator and transitioned to working as a tractor driver within 3 months. David was given the opportunity to work on the spray rig for a couple of years before he began working on the Grader. Currently, David plays an important role in the planting and harvesting of cotton.
Ricardo Ruvalcaba
Special Projects Supervisor
Having worked with the company since 1998, RIcardo started as an irrigator and later on gained experience in tractor driving. For five years, he worked as a tractor driver and harvested cotton, eventually working with mixing and spraying chemicals. He was promoted as the supervisor of the chemical warehouse and watermelon operations, and is now the Special Project Supervisor at Bowles Farming Company
Alvaro Ruvalcaba
Irrigation Supervisor
Alvaro became part of the Bowles farming family in 1991 as an irrigator. He was promoted to a tractor and cotton picker driver two years later, and with a total of 15 years of experience in cotton picking and 8 years of experience in tractor driving, Alvaro worked his way up to become an area foreman assistant for irrigation equipment management. A year later, he was promoted again to the position of irrigation and sprinklers supervisor.
Ulises Urenda
Drip Irrigation Supervisor
Ulises joined the Bowles team in 2011, starting as an irrigator and gaining experience in furrow and drip irrigation. He then became a tractor driver and eventually began supervising other irrigators. Currently, Ulises holds the position of a full-time irrigation supervisor.
